Publisher's Synopsis
This book is based on the author's ten-year research at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Here, practical problems were investigated which required a general and efficient method to analyze the stability of trivial and periodic solutions of dynamical systems with memory.;The text provides a short survey of existing methods and considers stability criteria for autonomous retarded functional differential equations. The proof of the method, the way of its generalization for a class of neutral systems and the basis of the investigation of nonlinear systems are also given. In addition, there are basic stability charts and examples of man-machine systems, robotics and machine tool vibrations which have been investigated from practical examples.
