Second, The Board of Indian Commissioners, of which I have the honor to be a member, has been attacked on the ?oor of the House of Representa tives, and members of the Board who do not receive a cent from the Govern ment for their services have been referred to as a useless body of pap suckers. This report is printed, not for the purpose of preventing attacks of this character, but in order that officials and citizens of this country interested in Indian affairs may be given an opportunity to ascertain exactly what one member of the Board has done in a humble way, without cost to the Government, in connection with one Indian reservation.
