Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Reply to a Pamphlet Entitled "a Statement of Facts in Relation to the Origin, Progress and Prospects of the New-York and Harlem Rail Road Company"
Ere we proceed to animadvert upon the Report of the Directors, or to canvass the conduct and pretensions of the Company, we would remark, and'we wish the remark to be borne steadily in mind, that in opposing their views, we have no selfish interests to subserve - no private wrongs to redress - no animosities to gratify, and that we are actuated by no other motive, feeling or consideration under heaven, than a becoming regard for what we conceive to be, the rights and interests of our fellow citizens.
