Publisher's Synopsis
The Lion-Blade Saga continues. After the fall of their hometown, Lumar and Nate have been absorbed into the Army that failed to defend their homes and families. They have just emerged victorious over the Sarsaul that destroyed their home. Even after they have had their revenge, the pain of their loss still weighs heavily on their minds. Lumar and Nate have a new life now. They must learn to fit in with Radcliff, Wallace, Jesse, Ford, and their newest companion, Garen, in Guardridge's Army. It is a life of drills, missions, training, and self-discovery. They are kept so busy preparing for a new campaign General Derricks is plotting that Lumar and Nate haven't been able to think about much else. In those rare moments of grief Lumar must learn to cope with the fact that he is the only survivor of his family. His entire world has died. He is the only one left to carry on the legacy of all those he lost and he doesn't have a single thing to remember them by. Even if Sangent were avenged, the Sarsaul have taken far too much from humanity. It is time to remember those that have been taken by this long and bloody war and bring them the justice they deserve.
