4th Edition Over 1000 young men from Rapides joined the Confederacy during the Civil War. Since photography was in its infant stages most of these soldiers are faceless to us today. But there were many who took portraits. Some of the images are still around. The goal of this book is to put a face behind the Rapides names who served during this historic time of Central and the nation. Period and post war photos were located of over 90 young men from Rapides which make the basis of this book. The book includes a little biography and service record of each man. From the top brass of the generals to the private from the back bayou this book offers a chance to look into the eyes of a variety of Cenla soldiers.
