Publisher's Synopsis
Freuchie News: The village was stunned on Sunday morning to learn that Mr. Peter Gordon had passed away in his sleep. On Saturday, as a member of the Letham Show Committee, he had judged the honey entries. Mr. Gordon was a well-known and popular agricultural representative, visiting farms throughout Scotland. He took a very active interest in the village affairs, being for many years chairman of the Trustees for the Lumsden Memorial Hall, of the Conservative Association, of the Freuchie and District Beekeepers' Association, the local curlers, and the Freuchie Scout Group. Though in recent years he had tried to lighten his load of duties by relinquishing chairmanships, he still remained a very active trustee and committee member whose advice and help were widely sought and freely given.
