Publisher's Synopsis
This volume contains the lectures prepared for the Workshop on Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions, part of the CCAST symposium series.;Relativistic Heavy-Ions has become an area of interest in both nuclear and high energy physics. Experimental activities at CERN and Brookhaven National Laboratory have produced new results which may lead to the understanding of phase transitions in quantum chromodynamics as well as possible new developments involving quark-gluon plasmas. In this volume, the world's experimental and theoretical authorities provide a study of this field including studies in nucleus-nucleus collisions, states of the vacuum and relativistic heavy-ions. This book should serve both as a graduate textbook and as a reference work on recent discoveries in this field.
