Shortly after the appearance of my Diseases Of the Heart and Aorta, in 1905, I began to issue a series Of monographs as succes sive addenda to the volume. They included a number Of topics that were gradually and deservedly coming into prominence. Or required recasting in the light Of newer experience. These mono graphs have now been revised and are presented to the profession in book form. For this opportunity I am indebted to the courtesy Of the medical journals which published them.
