Reading Stars Phonics Phase 5 Build Pack contains 49 individual phonics titles that gradually cover sets of letters and sounds as they are introduced within this phase of a phonics teaching programme. This pack contains 6 copies of each individual book.
It contains both fiction and non-fiction titles, on a range of topics and text types. These books correspond to Phase 5 of Letters and Sounds, the UK Government's synthetic phonics programme, but can be used for phonics reading practice to support any phonics programme. The words are all decodable which means they are made up of phonics that children can put together to decode the word.
These first books in Phase 5 introduce new phonemes, digraphs and consonont digraphs, together with more high frequency words. Each book introduces the new letters and sounds in an order that corresponds to Letters and Sounds. These books do not contain any words with letters or sounds that pupils will not have met at this stage of their phonics programme.
