Publisher's Synopsis
In this, the fourth sketchbook dating from her time as a student at Gibbs High School, we follow the great Hypermodern artist Mary Church on her journey through the "razormouth" of her own monstrous creation down into the Belly of the Beast, where Church encounters various peers, creatures and floating signifiers with which she wrestles in order to extract a coherent and meaningful world picture. This volume is a facsimile of a small but densely illustrated Moleskine sketchbook which Church composed and integrated like a miniature illuminated manuscript. The volume features an introduction by John David Ebert as well as an Appendix comprised of additional images on free-floating sheets of paper torn from various other sketchbooks.
