Professor Hansford is well-placed to write these stories. He has been a long-serving faculty member of the National Institutes of Health and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, as well as other universities, and is extensively published in the field of biochemistry. He has served as ombudsman for a major research institution and has taught many students at an offshore medical school located in the Caribbean. His island experiences provided some of the inspiration for a fictional professor's memoir entitled The Doctor Factory, which has been well received.
