The book "RAMIFICATIONS: Today's Economy, Development, Environment and Politics" is a collection of essays portraying the corollaries of certain key issues that shook the world these days. Whereas my earlier books explored how Gandhi's principles influenced and inspired people on personal transformation, 'RAMIFICATIONS' is intended to seek a relevance of Gandhian existence in today's developmental, economic, environmental and political aspects.
"Ramifications" is not only a commentary on various issues that are plaguing today's world, especially India, but a potpourri of Gandhian thoughts, suggestions and, to some extent, criticisms as well. Today's Economy, Development, Environment and Politics was not like years ago. Atleast about two decades before things have changed in the world rapidly in the post-globalization era, so rapidly enough to bring people much closer than ever shrinking the world within reach. Computers and communications have changed our lives to ease out our work, no doubt. At the same time, it has challenged our lives so heavily to pay a price in terms of degrading our innate values and sustainable living. From exploring the Moon to Mars, rockets to drones, robots to artificial intelligence, developments have leaped into a new high; alas, ordinary things are still hanging in loose with no ways to tighten the screws.
