Publisher's Synopsis
This is a collection of thirty-two of Craig Leisy's favorite poems. He composed the poems over a span of nearly fifty years. The collection includes both humorous and serious verse. He has experimented with many poetic styles. The poems are not presented in chronological order or by subject but instead they are mixed so that the mood is constantly changing just like in life.
On the page opposite each poem, he has added commentary about his thoughts when he composed it. Often, poems express intensely personal thoughts and emotions. His hope is that the commentary will make the poems more accessible.
Following the collection, he has inserted short essays on three famous poems that he greatly admires including: The Rubiayat of Omar Khayyam by Edward FitzGerald, The Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Carroll and The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot.
