Wrenna is perfectly content with her day-to-day life. She has no issues with sleeping in each morning, drinking an absurd amount of coffee, and getting lost in a good book. The twenty-five-year-old Fae would be just fine living in her little bubble for the rest of her life but unfortunately, not even she is that lucky. Sadly for Wrenna, she was born into a family with great responsibility and she is next in line to inherit the weight of that responsibility.
One day out of nowhere, Wrenna's life is flipped upside down when a series of events begin to peel back the many layers of lies her father has created. The discovery of a dark hidden secret that has been kept from her and the citizens of her cherished city for far too long, will become the catalyst for Wrenna unearthing her true self.
As Wrenna unravels the truth, she is propelled forward onto a path that will awaken a power inside so great, it will lead her to battle beasts, unlike anything she had ever read about in any book. On her journey, Wrenna will rescue and befriend a species she never even knew existed. A species that has been chosen as the ultimate sacrifice to an ancient God.
The human race is facing possible genocide as a result of a centuries-old bargain made between Wrenna's ancestors and Yama the God of Death. Wrenna must stop the torture, experimentation, and kidnapping her father has orchestrated to appease Yama but she will soon find it may be a bargain she can not break.
