Publisher's Synopsis
When Lee Devrin came back at the end of the Civil War, he found his house burnt and his family killed by Quantrill's Raiders, turning Devrin from an optimistic youth to an embittered man. Lee took to the gun trail which led from one end of Missouri to the other - a trail with only death waiting at the end of it. He rode with a trace of a tight smile on his dust-caked face and his hand never far removed from the smooth butt of the gun at his waist.
