The volume focuses on the censorship carried out in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries on the "Nuova Antologia", the cultural magazine published by the Gabinetto Vieusseux in Florence. In addition to examining the government decisions and recounting the consequences of those interventions, the essay also adds important elements to the history of the "Antologia", and useful insights for further reconstructions of that extraordinary cultural institution.
