The journey begins with a heart shaped birthmark that Alice Kendrick was born with and connects her to her soulmate. She was told many times that it was about her past life and her true soulmate. The story begins with her on an evening walk that takes her to a curio shop called the Tigers Eye, it is by the proprietor that she learns more about the birthmark and her past life as Ann Cumberland. In knowing this she has a curiosity about Ann and sets out to find out more more about her. She finds that Ann was a passenger of the Garrison returning to England from New York in the late 1800's. It was the one story that had a grip on England for years when they found that the Garrison had run aground on Leeds beach due to a major storm without one passenger except for a child unable to talk. The London Daily Times continued to request information on this tragedy to what happened to the 2200 hundred passengers since no bodies were found in the water or on the ship. They even requested anyone with an ability as a psychic to read through their vision of what they could see, then with this in mind Alice begain to see several ghostly figures moving throughout her house late at night. She soon finds out that the ghostly figures are that of Ann Cumberland and her husband Richard Shaw with two close friends that begin to connect with her telling her about that day when the Garrison lost every passenger and what happened to them. After gathering all the information she decided to send the information of what she was told to the London Daily Times which they comfirm to her and ask her to come to England. It was also at this time that she receives a letter a man named Jonathan Moore who works for Buckingham Palace as Events coordinator that the King and Queen is requesting her appearence to be crowned Princess. This leaves her questioning why? But, it is also when she finds out that her soulmateis Mark Roberts and that he is known as Prince Mark in line to becoming king. But, Alice also finds out that there was another figure in Ann's pasted that was very jealous and wanted her and now he begins to appear to Alice trying to do the same.
