The common root word for foreknowledge in new testament is proginosko, which literally refer to knowing a thing in advance, because of Gods foreknowledge, it is only wise for us to rely on him, hence it was said, trust in the lord with all your heart, and in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.
This attitude is expected of a believer in Christ not because it fastrack our step into limelight of life but majorly because its only from that posture that we can live a life of significance in God.
Significant existence is a life that is honoured and rewarded in eternity because the roles defined for that existence on the earth was accomplished.
Humanity defined significance from the standpoint of glamour and value, but God does not see as man see, there are decisions and arrangement God has made for each lives that comes to the earth, significance in God is finding those arrangement, aligning with it and making sure that what is predetermined by God in alignment with his foreknowledge come to manifestation.
The whole process of eternal rewards, judgment and position in eternity is determined by how much we aligned our lives with what God predestined for us in consideration of his foreknowledge.
The interesting part of this pursuit of purpose is that since we are made in God's image, we also have foreknowledge of what God wanted for our lives before we step into this earthly body.
