"Since the emergence of ERP and EAI systems in the early 1990s, the MIS discipline has undergone a slow but persistent change. Whereas the early emphasis of MIS was on the management and use of information systems per se, emerging cross-functional systems began to place the focus on processes that utilize such systems.
