Excerpt: ...announce that after lunch we shall take carriages and be driven around the North side of the City to see some interesting buildings there, and also to the North Western Terra Cotta Works. We shall also have a meeting in the evening at Mr. Gay's quarters, where after an inspection of the illustrations of current architectural work which has been collected, as well as of Mr. Gay's permanent exhibition of building appliances, we shall have a continuation of the reading of Papers. That will save time and give us an opportunity to finish our routine business to-morrow; and it will be a very pleasant way of passing the evening. On Mr. Adler's motion the Convention then adjourned, and took lunch at Kinsley's, and then drove over to the North Side and the N. W. Terra Cotta Works. Evening Session. The members of the Convention assembled at eight o'clock in Mr. Henry Lord Gay's quarters for the Permanent Exhibit of Building Materials, No. 15 East Washington street, to inspect the exhibition of illustrations of work executed within the last ten years by such practitioners as had responded to the official invitation issued by the Institute and the Western Association of Aichitects. After spending an hour in examining the large collection of designs exhibited, details of which were published in the "Building Budget "of 31 Oct., 1887, and "Inland Architect" of Oct:, 1887, the Convention was called to order by Vice-President Kendall in the Assembly room of the Exhibit.
