Digidesign’s Pro Tools is a DAW (digital audio recorder) and MIDI (Musicial Instrument Digital Interface) sequencer. Music “sequencers” allow musicians to develop, and engineers to record, professional quality music. For a number of years, Pro Tools has been the dominant software tool for audio production. It is used not only in music production (at all levels, from project studio to big-budget CD and film score projects), but also for sound design, post-production of audio for film and video, spoken word productions, radio and almost any other activity involving recorded audio. Pro Tools is available on both Mac and Window platforms.
