Over the past couple of years, Grails has matured and is being adopted on production applications. There are hundreds of Grails plugins available, which add a lot of power and capability Grails applications. Why Plug-ins?
It allows Grails Framework to be very lightweight which means better and faster performing Web applications using Grails. It also allows Grails to be more customizable through the use of addons, specifically plugins, to one's particular, specific Web application needs. Plugins enable third-party developers to create capabilities to extend an application; support features yet unforeseen; and much more.
Few if any books already on market cover these plugins. Most of the Grails books and content available offline and online is at a "getting started" level. Also none of the existing Grails books have more than a chapter on Grails plugins. There are no specific Grails plugins books available as yet, until now with Pro Grails Plugins.
