When Belinda Fenn's hospital has an important patient, a blind man being treated by a top-flight ophthalmic surgeon, he was too ill to understand he couldn't have the same nurse round the clock. So the ward sister used two nurses, sisters, with identical voices. For Belinda this spelled disaster when she found she was the prisoner of a promise made by her younger sister Penny, who was following orders to do 'anything to keep the patient happy'.
