Upon receiving a pair of notebooks from the Bingleys, Elizabeth starts to keep a private journal, in which she imagines all the ways her husband might pleasure her. Meanwhile, Darcy watches words appear on the blank pages of his notebook, as if by magic. And the words tell a story of how someone named Mr. Darcy thoroughly pleasures his wife in all manner of ways. In the library. In a carriage. At a ball. And so on. Darcy comes to think the character in this supernatural notebook is the kind of husband Elizabeth wants him to be. But can he bring himself to say the things she wants him to say? Can he do the things she wants him to do? Darcy, loosening his cravat, will try his best.
