The first five books of the Bible, known as "The Law," establish the foundation to what a follower of God must believe. These books introduce the beginning of all creation, mankind, our sin problem, God's sin solution, salvation, the duties of priests and the temple, the purpose for Israel, daily rules by which to live and the need for Jesus Christ. The first five books of the Bible reveal to us the heart of God - desiring relationship with us, showing mercy and patience to us, his plan for us and his expectations. Once you understand these five books, the rest of the Bible falls into place. "Praying Through the Law" can act as your guide through this important part of the Bible. If you read and pray through a chapter a day (and most chapters have 2-3 prayers), it will take you 187 days or a half a year to carefully and prayerfully go through these five books. Or, if you do approximately a prayer a day, reflecting on each section, over a year. By the end, you will have a thorough grasp of what these books are about and why you need them in your life and deep within your heart.
