Downbeat Australian drama based on a semi-autobiographical novel by Andrew McGahan, telling the story of two down-on-their-luck individuals whose passionate affair threatens to save - or destroy - both their lives. Gordon (Peter Fenton) is an apathetic, chain-smoking asthmatic living in a grubby apartment in Brisbane. When he meets insecure barmaid Cynthia (Sacha Horler), who suffers from eczema, the two begin a relationship based predominantly on sex, drugs and Scrabble.
