Ce volume rassemble les communications de la section &« Pragmatique historique et syntaxe » qui ont été tenues dans le cadre du XXXIe Romanistentag allemand à l'Université de Bonn. L'objectif principal portait sur l'analyse de textes romans anciens dans une perspective pragmatique/de pragmatique du discours. Celle-ci se consacre à la reconstruction des procédés au moyen desquels les scripteurs ou locuteurs (fictifs) &« manipulate the resources of their language to accomplish particular communicative objectives » (Fleischman/Waugh). La grande variété des contributions présentées ici offre un aperçu des différentes approches théoriques de ce domaine de recherche actuel.
