Artist Achille Mauzan was a master of the clever, zany and intriguingly positioned image. Greatly influenced by Leonetto Cappiello, his art reflects a dazzling twist on the Art Deco style. Featuring over 500 of his works, THE POSTERS OF MAUZAN is a tribute to his life and body of work. The book begins with an insightful biography of the great artist, written by one of the people who knew him best, his daughter, Mirande Carnévale-Mauzan. She provides intimate details of her father's work, life and family that help explain and enliven his posters. This is followed by hundreds of full-colour illustrations, beginning with the artist's work publicising silent films. Lastly, the reader is treated to both the original artwork on which Mauzan's posters were based and additional artwork that was left unpublished.
