Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Popular Stories and Legends
There was hardly a pair of boots in the neighbourhood that had not passed once or twice through his hands.
Some he te soled, some he patched or mended, others he put new toes to. Often through the window he could see his handiwork. He had plenty of work because he sewed well, used good leather, was moderate in his prices and' kept his word. If he could finish the work by the day fixed he would undertake it; if not he would say so frankly and never try to deceive. And every one knew him and he was never short of work.
