Many quacks, charlatans and snake oil salesmen have roamed the world, claiming medical knowledge. This volume claimed to be a guide against them, suggesting better cures for cholera, small pox, poisoning and even drowning. Some of the cures include known toxins, such as belladonna and mercury. Obviously the work is offered only for historical interest, and not as medical advice!
