Publisher's Synopsis
Chris Smith co-writes and directs this coming-of-age drama about an 18-year-old who must choose between the world he knows and a promising future. Having never learned to read or write, Venkatesh (Venkatesh Chavan) works as a hotel cleaner in Goa and earns money on the street by selling plastic bags alongside his young friend, Jhangir (Jhangir Badshah). He becomes obsessed with a swimming pool on a seemingly empty estate and longs to get closer it. One day, when the home owner appears, Venkatesh offers to help the man in the garden and befriends his daughter. Venkatesh's inquisitiveness leads to an opportunity for education and employment in Bombay, leaving him with a life-changing decision to make.
