In the monograph for the first time in the Russian historiography, a comprehensive analysis of the Polish emigration - a bright phenomenon and an important factor in the social life of Europe in the 1830s and 1860s - is given. The book traces the ideological and organizational development of Polish political emigration and its evolution at different stages of European history in the mid-19th century. The program settings of emigrant organizations in the field of strategy and tactics of the Polish and European liberation movement are analyzed. The ideological and political struggle taking place on this basis within the Polish emigration is shown. The active participation of Polish emigrants in public and revolutionary movements in Poland and in Europe, their attitude to the most important events in the history of European nations are presented. The book reflects the role of the Polish political emigration in preparing the uprising of 1863 in the Kingdom of Poland and examined the problem of the Russian-Polish revolutionary union connected with the uprising.
