Publisher's Synopsis
Mr Victor Lawes was born in the East End of London in 1942. He has 6 siblings, 4 brothers and 2 sisters and they all grew up in Stratford E15. Victor has been married to Diane for 51 years in April 2017. He also has 2 boys and 5 grandchildren. In 2002 Victor was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, aged 60. For therapeutic reasons and to help deal with the disease, Victor took up writing poems and painting. Prior to the diagnosis Victor was a very active man, loved his garden, walking and bowling. He loves pottering in the shed, when he is able and likes playing scrabble and crib. Parkinson's disease can be debilitating, scary and frustrating. It not only affects the body but also the memory and speech, so communication can become difficult. Victor has opened up his thoughts and feelings in writing and wanted to share with others. These are poems from the heart and all proceeds from this book will be donated to Parkinson's charity.
