Publisher's Synopsis
Welcome to Book 3 in the Max Burns trilogy. If you haven't read either of the first two books in this series, Over Easy followed by Scrambled, that's okay. Poached stands on its own. At some point, you may want to read Books 1 and 2 though, to find out how a guy like Max got to the White House as the presidential chef, since he is a most unlikely candidate to be working in such close proximity to the most powerful man in the world. Although I wrote my Max Burns character as a vet coping fairly well with his PTSD, in actuality, PTSD/TBI suicide for veterans is now up to twenty-two a day, forty if you include active duty members of our Armed Forces. Help for our vets has been the same old "meds" mixed together or separately. Out-of-the-box solutions such as ketamine (NMDA, Schedule III receptor), mushrooms, and holistic medicines as therapies have showed positive results; but big pharma has been successful in stifling this approach at every turn, even though some brave, insightful medical personnel trek onward.
