Publisher's Synopsis

Tony Stowers is an author, playwright, actor and teacher who was born in North East England in 1963 and now lives in North West France. This collection, three of four volumes, features five diverse theatre plays. "Somebody Up There Likes Us" (2001), a story of two border guards from warring nations only able to communicate after ingesting a secret chemical with temporary effects, was created from Anglo-French workshops between 10th - 14th September 2001. "Le Petoman" (2002) is a two-act comedy based on the real-life story of one of the stars of The Moulin Rouge at the turn of the 19th Century. "Pressure" (2002) is the follow-up to "My Brother Jake" (Plays: Two), a play for young people examining what happens when Jake is released from prison but has to cope with more temptation in civilian life than he ever had to cope with inside. "Space Station" (2003) is a two character comedy about two strangers who meet on a hill at night for very different reasons. "Space Jockey" (2004) is taken from stories surrounding the shady world of telephone advertising sales. Each play comes with notes and original publicity, where possible.
