Ricardo MartinezErnesto Gonzalez Barnert (Temuco, Chile, 1978) is a poet with more than ten books published. He has received the Pablo Neruda Award for Poetry in 2018, the National Book Council Award for Best Unpublished Work in 2014, the Eduardo Anguita National Prize in 2009 and the Pablo Neruda Award of Honor from the University of Valparaiso in 2007, in addition to several other recognitions and grants for his poetic work. Among his latest books are the anthology No Man Is an Island (Buenos Aires Poetry, 2019) and the collection We Were Stars, We Were Music, We Were Time (Mago, 2018). Gonzalez Barnert is also a filmmaker and cultural events organizer at the Espacio Estravagario of the Pablo Neruda Foundation. He lives in Santiago.
