Publisher's Synopsis

In about 360 BCE, the Greek philosopher Plato wrote about Atlantis in two documents called the Timaeus and Critias. They are the only known works that describe the Atlantean civilisation in any detail.

Plato states the Atlanteans were an aggressive imperial military power with an advanced Bronze Age level of technology. They originated on what Plato calls the 'Atlantic island', located outside the Mediterranean in the Atlantic Ocean.

Plato's Caribbean Atlantis challenges the usual academic claim that Plato made up a myth for the entire Atlantis story. It explains dozens of his descriptions of lands, cultures, material objects, and events. Its purpose is to vindicate Plato, who repeatedly wrote that it was a true story and not a myth.

Plato's Caribbean Atlantis is based on current knowledge in Classical Literature, Ancient History, Archaeology, Human Prehistory, Palaeontology, Climate Science and Geology. It rejects paranormal, occult, or extraterrestrial explanations for Atlantis or any speculation about lost super-advanced Atlantean technologies.
