Publisher's Synopsis

Won't you join us? Author Sonja Hakala gave out the first handmade quilts to people with Parkinson's disease in 2011 in honor of her parents, both of whom died of complications from this rampant neurological disorder. The idea spread and soon members of her guild, Northern Lights, started making quilts to support Sonja's effort. Now the Parkinson's Comfort Project is a nonprofit with even more quilters making and donating beautiful lap quilts as gifts of compassion and warmth for people with Parkinson's disease. Piecing for Parkinson's includes simple and versatile patterns and techniques that everyone can use to support this effort. Proceeds from PIECING FOR PARKINSON'S benefit the Parkinson's Comfort Project.
