Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Photographs, 1929

The introduction, a few years ago, of such colors as Lustrous Carmine, Rosy Scarlet and Ageratum Blue brought the stock flowered Larkspur into popularity with florists for use as a cut flower. The delightful shade, Exquisite, seemed at the time of its introduction the culmination of beauty in this type of Larkspur, but we feel that La France is the most striking color of all and, without any question, the most outstanding novelty for the season of La France is much more vigorous and taller - growing than other light shades of Stock flowered varieties on the market today and, in our trials for the past thre seasons, is more resistant to mildew. The flowers are of a pleasing salmon pink, a shade closely resembling the popular An tirrhinum Jeanie Schneider. The large, well-formed double flowers, well placed on the long stems to set off its attractions.
