Publisher's Synopsis
Rejoin Penny's therapy practice, where young wife Lila Grant grapples with the hypnotizing change she is undergoing. Struggling to reconcile her feminist beliefs with the misogynist behaviors that have been programmed into her by her trusted therapist, Lila finds herself enchanted by the new acceptance of her role as an obedient and submissive wife.
Lila's transformation into an obedient little submissive has her feeling conflicted. Sure, she's getting mind-blowing orgasms that her new Master allows her to enjoy, but when Jack asks her to spout off praise for the Patriarchy during their bedroom fun, she's left questioning if she's really tied to a misogynist prick.
Penny must work harder than ever to deepen Lila's conversion under the spell of her subconscious desires. However, when Lila's fiery feminist sister Alice visits from college, Jack and Penny race against time to prevent Alice's modern influence from undoing all of their hard work.
Jack uses a white noise machine to pump Alice full of subliminal messages, trying to hypnotize her into compliance. But it's not going well. When Alice overhears the loud, degrading sexual antics of Lila and Jack, she gets a sinking feeling that Lila is being threatened or abused in this perverse situation.
Meanwhile, Penny and Jack layer on more hypnotic conditioning to Lila's new personality: urging her to focus her flirty behavior on married men, indulge in fantasies about Jack's best friend James, and even view money as sexy.
Lila's depraved descent into being little more than Jack's pretty toy, or perhaps a temporary amusement for all guys, culminates in this part of the story with a personalized erotic video in which Lila offers herself to James for one night-under the condition that he sneaks away from his wife and allows Jack to be present to grant her the permission she needs when the time comes.
Tension amplifies with the arrival of Alice's girlfriend Charlie, who is willing to help Alice investigate. But, overwhelmed by the insidious influence of the white noise machine, Charlie might find herself unconsciously believing that Jack deserves what he wants. Perhaps he is indeed a good dom, and Lila is truly happy.
Content warning: This is sexist, male chauvinist, misogynist, manipulative, coercive, patriarchal, you name it. It would be wrong to force these ideas to a real relationship. Besides, hypnosis doesn't work this way.
