Almost 300 military units were formed in Pennsylvania. This index contains 487,521 names of men who served in Pennsylvania units in the Civil War. The index is published in 4 volumes. This volume contains the A - E surnames. Each man is identified with his unit of service and company. Additional details on these men and bibliographies by unit for further research may be found on our website at www.researchonline.net/pacw.
