Abandoned by her mother, Eleanor spent her childhood in constant fear of her father's erratic behaviour. She's desperate to leave home and live independently like so many other girls in the seventies. When her best friend Marty, who works with her in a London hotel, invites her to share a house with him and the glamorous Megan and Venita, it's her chance to break free. But when Eleanor confronts her father with the news his reaction is catastrophic. And despite the support and guidance of her new friends, Eleanor cannot cope.
