Plato was an ancient Greek philosopher who founded the Academy in Athens. Plato, who was the student of Socrates and the teacher of Aristotle, is generally considered to be the most important figure in the development of philosophy. Plato also played a critical role in the development of Western religion, science, and mathematics. Parmenides is a dialogue between Parmenides, Zeno of Elea, and a young Socrates.
