The cover of "Paleo Period Lance & Dart Points" shows several examples of different styles and made from different stone materials, placed on a printed map of North America in approximate positions which represent the geographic areas where they were found. The projectile point types range from a Black Rock Concave lance point, an Owl Cave lance point and a Midland dart point, placed in the Pacific Northwest and Great Basin and over into Colorado, to a Clovis point in New Mexico and a Barber dart point in Texas, to gray, white and brown Clovis points in the upper Midwest, to brown and tan Clovis points in Indiana and Kentucky, to a tan and pink Clovis point in Alabama, and a fossilized coral Clovis point in Florida. Clovis points date from 13,000 to 12,600 calendar years B.P. These and many more Paleo artifacts from all across North America will be examined, with such provenance as is known and available for each artifact. 200 pages, full color.
