Welcome to Pagetown, where all the best stories are written. Hidden deep in the middle of a forest, Pagetown is a secluded village that was made for story writers. Tourists think it's a paradise. But it's every writer for himself. Clara Becker is running out of time. She is six months away from turning seventeen, the age at which she'll get kicked out of Pagetown if she doesn't write a story that's accepted by the Council. Writing an acceptable story in six months is difficult enough, without the added pressure of being a Becker and having to uphold her family legacy of successful writers, not to mention living with an absentee father and her biggest rival, Hannah May Bradley. Things only get more difficult when Clara meets Ko in the woods surrounding Pagetown. Ko is handsome, smart, brave...and also a fictional character. As more and more characters and stories spill into the real world, Pagetown is overrun and Clara has to enlist the help of Hannah May. The two must put aside their differences and, together with Clara's best friend Roger Hensley, find a way to save Pagetown - and the fantasy world itself - from collapse.
