Publisher's Synopsis
Lee Duffy was a phenomenon in every sense of the word. A one-man mob, a typhoon that swept through Teesside in the Eighties and early Nineties. I set out to bring him to life in cartoon format, because I was in awe of the man and the legend. The life story of the 'Duffer' is one that fascinates many even to this day. He was fearless and incredibly tough, and he was unmatched in his ability to fight. He turned around the fact that he was bullied as a child and, in time, turned the tables on his tormentors. From his humble beginnings in South Bank, one of the toughest areas of Middlesbrough, he rose through the ranks to be feared and to be fearless. The reputation he established was second to none, and such was his standing, that he would virtually empty a pub within seconds of arriving. Only 26 when he died, but Lee left behind a legacy that will go down in Middlesbrough folklore for all time. A handsome man, an icon in many respects. A man never to be repeated.
