Publisher's Synopsis

In this Volume II, the book researches into the case of Libya. It diagnoses the Libyan 'revolution' since its first outbreak in 2011 to the last phase. It describes the old and new opposition groups to Qaddafi before his demise and their role in the Libyan revolution which had toppled him. Then goes into details searching all the fought battles between the armed groups and the Qaddafi's loyal forces in: Benghazi, Sabha, Oulad Suleiman, Nafusa Mountains, Zaouia, Ajdabiya, Brega, Misrata and finally how did capital Tripoli fall via Operation Mermaid Dawn. Then the chapters follow suit with issues, like the use and abuse of the 1970 and 1973 UN resolutions and their meaning, including the non-flying zone, the Arab League stance into the Libyan conflict and the international intervention. In the second part, it searches into the impact of the Libyan regime's collapse on stability and security in North Africa and the African desert sahel and diagnoses the crisis in Mali. It looks into the Tuareg Azwad rebellion and other armed groups, like Ansar Al Dine, The Movement For Oneness and Jihad In West Africa, (MUJAO) and Ansar Al Sharia including other Al Qaeda affiliate groups.
