Kate Ivory has moved out of her house in Agatha Street and is looking forward to starting afresh in Jericho, Oxford. But then she meets up with an old friend, Faith Beeton, who needs an impartial opinion on a pretty, blonde student at Bartlemas College. Daisy Tompkins has made a formal complaint about her tutor and, as Dean of Women Students, Faith is bound to investigate.
