Lou is not happy when her friend Emma's bossy grandmother arrives. Granny Browne thinks that rich but horrible Angela, a member of Lou and Emma's ballet class, would be a more suitable friend for Emma. At ballet Angela is super-sweet to Emma and Louand Emma begin to drift apart. Lou is miserable and decides to concentrate on her dancing and beat Angela in the end of term display for parents. Disaster strikes when she twists her ankle and can't perform. She is sure that nothing will stop Angelawinning everything but, to her delight, everything changes and Jem scoops all the prizes.
