Martha and Pinkas fled Berlin, Germany in December 1938, only weeks after their wedding and nine months before the German Reich invaded Poland, marking the beginning of World War II. The narrative begins with two chapters devoted to the childhood memories of Martha Weinreb and Pinkas Isaak and continues with their lives as a couple. Over the course of nearly 70 years, their journey took them from Germany to England to Israel, and, finally, to America. It is a story of survival, family, faith and rebuilding.
